When you're driving around Phoenix at night, bright lights from the vehicle behind you can sometimes make it difficult to see. Fortunately, the industry has responded to this problem, and many new vehicles at Bueno Used Cars come with auto-dimming rearview mirrors.

These advanced mirrors have sensors that can detect the presence of bright headlights. When they do, they communicate with a microprocessor to send an electric charge through a chromatic gel. The charge causes the gel to undergo a reaction in which it darkens.

The gel is situated in between the two layers of glass in the mirror. When it darkens, it prevents some light from reflecting off the mirror and into your face. As a result, you won't be blinded by the bright lights and can focus your attention on the road ahead of you. When the sensors stop detecting bright lights, the reaction can reverse itself, and the mirror will look like a normal mirror again.
