Tips for Changing a Flat Tire

Having a flat tire is inconvenient, but being prepared with a few tools will make the situation tolerable. It is also a good idea to practice changing your vehicle's tire in a safe area. To change a flat tire, you will need a car jack, a lug wrench, and a spare tire. Make sure to inspect your spare tire at the same time you check your regular tires.

Before changing the tire, make sure the car is off. Set the emergency brake. Chock the wheels with either chock blocks, large rocks, or logs. Chocking the wheels will help stop the car from rolling.

Loosen the lug nuts, then jack up the vehicle. Refer to the owner’s manual on how to jack up the car. Each car is a little different. Once the car is up, remove the nuts and replace the tire.

To purchase a new spare and have your other tires inspected, stop by a trusted auto service center in Phoenix, AZ.
